The Philippines is a sprawling archipelago of 7,641 islands in Southeast Asia, known as the “Pearl of the Orient Seas.” It is a land of dramatic contrasts—where neon-lit megacities give way to some of the world’s most pristine, untouched natural wonders.
In 2026, it remains one of the world’s fastest-growing economies and currently holds the ASEAN Chairship, positioning itself as a central hub for regional culture and development.

Travel Tips
  • ✅ General Tips
  • Currency: The Philippine Peso (PHP) is the local currency. Bring some cash—especially in rural areas like Oslob or Bohol—as not all establishments accept cards.
  • ATMs & Cards: Available in cities and major tourist spots. Always carry a small amount of cash just in case
  • Connectivity: Buy a local SIM card (Globe or Smart) at the airport or convenience stores for mobile data. Wi-Fi is common in hotels but can be unreliable in remote areas
  • Weather: Tropical climate—hot and humid. Bring light clothes, sunblock, and a hat. July is rainy season, so pack a light rain jacket or umbrella.
  • Tipping: Not required but appreciated—10% tip is customary at restaurants or for guides.
  • 🏝️ Cebu, Oslob & Bohol Tips
  • Early Start for Tours: Oslob tours start as early as 3–4 AM from Cebu City—prepare for a long but rewarding day.
  • Whale Shark Interaction: Follow ethical guidelines—no sunscreen, no touching, and keep a safe distance.
  • Tumalog Falls: Wear water shoes—the path can be slippery.
  • Sumilon Island: Bring waterproof bags and snorkeling gear if not provided.
  • Ferry to Bohol: Arrive at the pier at least 45 minutes early. Keep tickets and IDs handy
  • 🌊 Boracay Tips
  • Environmental Fees: Budget for these at the jetty port: Terminal Fee, Environmental Fee, and Boat Fee (usually around PHP 300 total).
  • Transfers: Pack light—boat transfers to the island involve walking on planks or getting your feet wet.
  • Activities: Book water sports early in the day—weather conditions can affect availability.
  • Dress Code: Boracay is casual—beachwear is fine during the day, and light casual wear at night.
  • Sunsets: Don’t miss the White Beach sunset—best spots are Station 1 and 2.
  • 🏙️ Manila Tips
  • Traffic: Allow extra time for transfers—traffic in Manila (especially Makati or BGC) can be unpredictable.
  • Safety: Stick to tourist-friendly areas; avoid dark or isolated streets at night. Use Grab (ride-hailing app) for safe transport.
