Azerbaijan is a culturally rich and geographically diverse country located at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, in the South Caucasus region. It is known for its unique blend of modern architecture and ancient history, especially in its capital city, Baku, where futuristic landmarks like the Flame Towers stand alongside the historic Old City (Icherisheher), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The country lies along the Caspian Sea and is famous for its natural resources, particularly oil and gas, which have significantly contributed to its development. Azerbaijan also offers diverse landscapes, from the mud volcanoes and the fiery Yanar Dag (Burning Mountain) to lush mountains in regions like Gabala and Sheki.
